Field notes

Unlike many of its congeners, it lacks white wing patches or any prominent neck scaling.
The species is primarily an arboreal frugivore, foraging for small fruits and berries in the forest canopy.
It displays a subtle but distinct iridescent greenish or bronzy sheen on the hindneck feathers.
Nesting occurs in a flimsy platform of twigs, usually positioned over water or in dense foliage, containing a single white egg.
Despite its wide range, it is rarely found far from water, favoring riverine corridors and coastal mangroves.
