Field notes

The species exhibits sexual dimorphism in beak color, with males having a red upper mandible and females possessing an entirely black bill.
Its name 'Moustached Parakeet' refers to the prominent black malar stripes that extend from the base of the beak across the lower cheeks.
Unlike many parrots, this species is highly adaptable to human-modified landscapes and is frequently found in urban parks and gardens.
