- Foraging behavior involves searching for insects primarily on the thin, outer twigs and small branches of thorny trees.
- Its presence is strongly tied to the distribution of Acacia and Balanites trees, which provide its primary nesting and feeding substrate.

Arid thorn-scrub, dry acacia savanna, and semi-desert scrublands.
